embrace the camera

 Daddy and Caraline this morning!

Love, love those little feet!

a typical day with mommy and caraline.....

just a little background info:

outside of being a mommy, i also have a full time job.
i am a newborn nursery RN, which is such a fun/rewarding occupation.
work 36-40 hours within 3 days at a hospital.
but i stay home 4 days a week so really it feels like i have 2 full time jobs (as i'm sure most working mommies do), and though it can be exhausting trying to manage it, i feel that i get the best of both worlds.
when i am at home we pretty much stay here, there are far too many things to get done in my 4 days at home, so there isn't too much running around.
plus our day is regularly planned around caraline's nap schedule, which we like to stick to.

caraline is now 14 months old and here is the schedule for a typical day with mommy and caraline:

7am: awake for our morning sippy of milk
730am: breakfast while watching mickey mouse clubhouse
(which is our favorite show)
8am to 830am: playtime
830am to 10am: morning naptime
(this is usually when I get my facebook/blogging time in, eat my breakfast, and take a shower/get ready if we are going to have to be out for errands after naptime)
1030am: morning snack time
1045am: playtime
(during this time we usually start with taking a walk in our stroller or wagon around the neighborhood and come back to play until lunchtime, or if errands are necessary this is when we take care of that)
12pm: lunch time
1230pm to 230/3pm: afternoon nap
(this is laundry time and cleaning house time for mommy, and if i can get all of that done there is an occasional mommy nap too)
3pm: afternoon snack and playtime
(lately we having been going outside to play at this time due to the perfect weather)

6pm: dinner
645pm: bath time
(this girl loves playing in the bath tub, when mommy tells her it is bath time she takes straight off toward her bathroom)
715: sippy cup of milk and reading time
(and then our evening ritual of book reading, where mommy reads to caraline or caraline sits in her floatie toy and reads to herself)

8pm: bedtime
(this bedtime we are very strict about, whether caraline seems tired or not she goes to bed at this time, and we really don't have a problem with her, she is a great sleeper, she will usually go straight down and not make a peep, other times she talks to herself for about 5 minutes then she is out)
(she's so stinkin sweet!!!)

Gmas Big 90th Birthday!

this past weekend our little family went to Stilwell.
which is my hometown.
Caraline got to see a lot of one side of her family that she doesn't see often.
some that she hasn't even met yet!
the occasion?!?!

HER GREAT GRANDMOTHER'S 90TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!

wow, 90 years old.
and up until about 2 weeks ago she has lived by herself.
(with family close by of course)
how awesome is that!
she is now still in her own home with one of my dear cousins now living there too!

it was a great party.
really wish that Caraline's grandpa Tommy (my dad) could have been here to celebrate with us.
but I now that he was watching over us.
and I'm sure that he had a smile on his face watching Caraline get to meet/spend time with her Samms family!

so here we go! a few pics of Grandma Ruby's 90th birthday party! enjoy!

the guest of honor arrives!

my Samms family!

Caraline loves balloons and her aunt sammi too!

embrace the camera

here we are this morning, still both very tired (before the morning coffee was done and with our thumb still in our mouth), just watching an episode of mickey mouse clubhouse

caraline's big ole eyes and super long lashes were just too pretty so I had to post this one, plus my eyeball is in it, doesn't that count?

still hanging around...

remember that lump that I posted about a week or so ago?
well it is still hanging around.
we are now at 3 weeks and counting.
so we are going to try a round of antibiotics, 10 days to be exact.
if at the end of this caraline still has the lump (enlarged lymph node) our pediatrician will be sending us to see a specialist/surgeon for it.
he says they may do nothing for it or they may want to cut it out.
tears come up just thinking about this, so we are praying that the antibiotics will do the job so we don't have to deal with the other stuff.
of course I have been looking online (which is dangerous to do, I know) I let our doc know this....
he said that he was going to have to come and rip my computer out of the house and not to worry about the stuff I was finding, that she was going to be fine!
I am sure that she is but still how can I not worry? its my little girl and I just want her to be happy and healthy!

 Tim, Happy Birthday!
Caraline and I want to say that we love you very much and we are so thankful for you and for the family that we have been blessed with!!

You are such a wonderful husband and the most loving daddy to our sweet daughter!

Just wanted to share with what I came home to this past Monday night after a very long and busy day at work....

Isn't this just too sweet!! Coming in from work and seeing this just made my day!! Tim had dinner for me in the fridge, Caraline was bathed, and he was reading her a nighttime book!

Tim, you are one AMAZING daddy and husband! Caraline and I both love you with all of our hearts and I thank the Lord for you each and every day!
